Plantation Area by the project
The project harnesses the hydropower potential of the Kopili River, a southern tributary of the Brahmaputra River. The proposed Lower Kopili Hydroelectric Project (LKHEP) is a downstream development of the existing Kopili Hydroelectric Project. Situated in the Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts of Assam. The project aims to utilize the regulated discharge from the Kopili HEP, spill flows from the Khandong and Umrong Dams, as well as runoff from the intermediate catchment area to optimize power generation.

Project Features : Construction of Run-of-River Type 120 MW capacity Hydropower, Comprises a main plant rated at 110 MW (2X55 MW) and an auxiliary plant rated at 10 MW (1×5 MW+2×2.5 MW) at the toe of the dam
