May 2023

The Joint Venture of Full Bright Consultancy Pvt. Ltd, Jade Consult Pvt. Ltd. and Paragon Engineering Consultancy & Research Center Pvt. Ltd. (FBC-JADE-PARAGON JV) have been selected by the Department of Roads, Quality Research and Development Center (QRDC) to conduct the Feasibility Study of Tathali-Rabiopi Road Tunnel in Bhaktapur District, Nepal. The approximate length of the road tunnel is 7.6 Km.

We are delighted to share that Jade Consult has been selected by Sita Hydropower Company Pvt. Ltd. to provide Project Management Consultant (PMC) service for Nyasim Khola Hydropower Project (35 MW) located in Sindhupalchowk District, Nepal.

We are excited to be a part of this project and we look forward to contribute our expertise and experience to the success of the project.

Jade Consult is glad to be a part of the International Conference Series of Nepal Geotechnical Society, organized by Nepal Geotechnical Society. The conference was held at Hotel Radisson, Kathmandu on 16 – 17 March 2023. The main objective of the conference was to create a pool of minds for enhancing geotechnical engineering practices in Asia.

Gaurab Singh Thapa, Geotechnical Engineer at Jade Consult presented an interesting analytical study titled “The Effect of Non-persistent Rock Joint with Various Rock Bridge Intensity and Configuration on Shear Behavior Using Direct Shear Test on PFC3D”.

Jade Consult celebrated its 22nd Anniversary on 28 Feb 2023 at Nagarkot. The celebration included felicitations to the staff followed by informal events of dance, music, a talent show, and dinner.

Jade Consult participated in the Nepal Tunneling Conference 2022 as one of the sponsors, with the theme of “Design and Construction of Underground Structures for Infrastructure Development” organized by the Nepal Tunnelling Association.

The Conference was a great opportunity to learn more about the project experiences in Nepal regarding site investigations, design, construction techniques, instrumentation, monitoring and contractual practices, and analysis of critical problems, alternative design, construction techniques, and safety & recent developments of the tunnelling industry.

Jade Consult is honoured to be appointed by Vidhyut Utpadan Company Limited (VUCL) to conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Study of the Mugu Karnali Storage Hydro Electric Project (1902 MW). The project is located in the Mugu, Humla, Jumla, Kalikot and Bajura districts of Nepal.

HILTI’s most anticipated Firestop Event of the Year!

Jade Consult participated in the Firestop Learning Event organized by HILTI at Radisson Hotel, Kathmandu.

It was a good opportunity for us to know more about Compartmentation & Passive Fire Protection Systems covering the various aspects of; Basics of Fire Protection – Compartmentation – International codes & standards for Passive Fire Protection – Solutions to tested fire stop systems complying with ASTME 814 / NBC 2016 (India) / NFPA 101, etc.

October 2022

Nepal’s Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation; Ms. Pampha Bhusal, inaugurated the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operation together with the project manager. A double-shield TBM was put into operation on 14 Oct 2022, marking a new phase for the construction of a 13.3 km long tunnel under Nepal’s Sunkoshi Marin Diversion Multipurpose Project (SMDMP).

Listed by the government as a national pride project, SMDMP is aimed at diverting water from the Sunkoshi River to the Marin River to irrigate 122,000 hectares of farmland. JV of SMEC – EMAY – JADE – CMS is the construction supervision consultant.

Jade Consult attended the Nepal Green Hydrogen Summit along with other high-profile personalities and dignitaries of Nepal from various industries, ministries and government offices and development partners in Nepal, including renowned international experts and leading global companies working in Green Hydrogen technology.

Nepal Green Hydrogen Summit (NGHS) is the first event of its kind in Nepal jointly organised by MIT Group Foundation and Global NRN Foundation, in partnership with the Government of Nepal – Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation (MoWERI), the Government of Nepal Ministry of Finance, Global Green Growth Institute, Wind Power Nepal, Kathmandu University and Melbourne Institute of Technology on October 10 to 11, 2022.

The Joint Venture of Full Bright Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., Jade Consult Pvt. Ltd. and Epicenter Engineering Solution Pvt. Ltd. has signed a contract with the Government of Nepal, Department of Water Resources and Irrigation, Bheri Babai Diversion Multipurpose Project for Consulting services for Detail Feasibility Study of Babai Mankhola Diversion Project. The proposed Babai Mankhola Diversion Project Lies in Banke and Bardiya District.

Jade Consult (P) Ltd. in Joint Venture with M. N. Dastur & Company (P) Ltd., India and SRK Mining Services (India) Private Limited is honoured to be appointed by Dhaubadi Iron Company Limited (An undertaking of the Government of Nepal) for conducting Detailed Feasibility Study of Iron and Steel Plant Based on Dhaubadi Iron Ore Deposit in East Nawalparasi, Gandaki Province, Nepal.

This is a high-priority project of the Government of Nepal and after construction, this will be the first plant in Nepal to start commercial production of steel.

Successful completion of Workshop of Environmental & Social Baseline Data Collection, EFlow Assessment, Rapid Cumulative Impact Assessment of Upper Karnali Hydropower Project.

The objective of the workshop was to discuss the initial findings of the study and to solicit comments and feedback from stakeholders.

Jade Consult in association with its International and National partners is honoured to be appointed by Electricite De France SA (EDF) for carrying out Ecological and Social Baseline Data Collection, Downstream Impact Study, Environmental Flows (E-Flows) Assessment, and Rapid Cumulative Impact Assessment (RCIA) for the Upper Karnali Hydropower Project (900 MW). The project lies in Accham, Dailekh and Surkhet districts.

Jade Consult as an associate partner of an International Consulting Firm has been entrusted by an International Financing Institution (multilateral funding agency) to conduct the Technical Due Diligence Study of three hydropower projects of capacity 9.5 MW, 6.2 MW, and 49 MW in Province 1 of Nepal. The main objective of the assignment is to conduct a high-level technical appraisal of the three hydropower projects and identify any gaps and risks.

Robbins Double Shield TBM will be used in the Sunkoshi Marin Diversion Multipurpose Project (SMDMP). A tunnel of more than 13 km in length for both irrigation and hydropower will be the refurbished machine’s second project in Nepal. SMDMP has been declared a National Pride Project by the Nepalese Government. SMEC is leading the joint venture with EMAY, Jade Consult, and CMS Nepal.
