Tamakoshi (Khimti) – Kathmandu 220/400 kV Transmission Line Project is a 90 km double circuit line project, which also includes three 220 kV substations at Khimti, Barhabise & Kathmandu and 132 kV substation at Chagunarayan. This transmission line will runs between the Khimti substation in Ramechhap District and the new Haledi substation in Kathmandu District, via the new Barhabise substation in Sindhupalchowk District. The associated facilities will include new bays at the Khimti substation, a new substation at Barhabise and a new substation at Haledi. The route alignment passes through hilly/ mountainous terrain and it falls under the snow loading zone. Altitude of Khimti 200 kV Substation is approx. 650 m.
